Olympic National Park Elopement
Olympic National Park Elopement
Savannah and Josh had the most beautiful summer Olympic National Park elopement. S and J came all the way from West Virginia to elope in Washington State. They chose Olympic National Park and after several weeks of hot and smokey weather these two lucked out with the most amazing weather. One fun fact is that I actually ran into these two the day before their elopement! I was searching for some food for the night and I ran into them on their way to pick up Pizza! We had only met via zoom one other time so when we saw each other we weren’t 100% sure we had the right person, but we quickly figured it out and laughed about it! It was such a fun coincidence and made the next day even more exciting.
We started off the afternoon at Lake Crescent for a private ceremony on the lake shore. Ryan from the Greatest Adventure Weddings officiated their ceremony and Erika planned the cutest picnic setup on the lake! Savannah and Josh exchanged their personal vows, shared their first kiss and then immediately went into their first dance. After their dance S and J chose to have donuts and coffee, which I think might be the best elopement picnic I’ve seen so far!

Olympic National Park Elopement Forest Hike
After their lakeside picnic S & J hiked through a trail near their ceremony location. The forests need to Lake Crescent have Hoh Rainforest vibes (tons of moss, beautiful greens, and tons of plant diversity) which is incredible, because the drive out to the Hoh Rainforest is not as ideal if you’re hoping to to stay near Port Angeles or go up to the mountains for sunset.
Olympic National Park Sunset Elopement at Hurricane Ridge
After exploring the forest, we headed back to our cars and made the beautiful and windy drive up to Hurricane Ridge. Washington really showed off for these two with the most beautiful sunset and blue hour. One of my favorite things about mountain sunsets is that you never know what it will look like. Sometimes the entire sky slights up with bright pinks and oranges, sometimes there’s just a subtle soft ombre fade from blue to yellow, and sometimes you get a magical night where light beams seep through the mountains to create the most magical skies. Savannah and Josh got the latter. As soon as I saw the pink diffused light coming through the hillside I was filled with giddy happiness. It’s a photographer’s dream to have such beautiful lighting and it added so much magic to an already picture perfect elopement for this couple.
Once we met at the parking lot we took some portraits with the mountains in the background and then hiked up a bit higher on the mountain to take advantage of the last big of golden hour in the trees. Once the sun went fully behind the distant mountains we made our way back to down for more mountain portraits and that’s when the pink sun beams showed up. Ugh, it was just so dreamy and the perfect ending to the day.
