The Southern Oregon coast is truly a dream spot to elope and for good reason. There’s gorgeous sandy beaches, private coves, and old growth redwoods that will take your breath away! Brittany and Eric had an incredible spring elopement near Brookings, Oregon! Their elopement took place on two different beaches that were relatively close together. We originally had plans to have their ceremony later in the day, but the weather looked like it was going to be pretty stormy, so shifted their ceremony to much earlier when it was still sunny out! They had a super intimate ceremony right on the beach with their parents and grandparents to witness. Brittany’s dad walked her down the “aisle” and then shared a short blessing over B & E’s marriage. After their short ceremony and family photos, I left B & E to go spend time with their family with plans of meeting back up for their adventure sunset portraits. It ended up pouring down rain during our original start time, so I’m glad we made the decision to move their ceremony earlier in the day! It worked out perfectly!
Later in the evening we met back up at one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been to. It was drizzling down a soft rain and we had the entire beach to ourselves for a while. It was so incredibly calm and beautiful! The rocks were really slippery getting down to the actual beach, so Brittany and Eric decided to stay higher up and skip going down to the actual sand. After some initial portraits B & E had a mini picnic under the cover of some trees and watched the ocean roll into the beach. As it started to rain a bit harder Brittany had the idea of moving their picnic into the back of their jeep and cozying up with blankets and string lights! So we headed back up to the cars, drove to an overlook and set up their jeep! It ended up being such a great idea and such a cute setup! After a few portraits I left and let B & E enjoy the spot completely to themselves. It was an incredible day with the full PNW spectrum of weather! You never know what you’ll get with a May elopement, but Brittany and Eric handled with like champs and had such a wonderful elopement.
