Olympic National Park Sunrise and Sunset Elopement
Claire and Tyler had an incredible sunrise and sunset elopement in Olympic National Park! We started the day in the mountains before the sun was up! Claire and Tyler got changed into their elopement attire at the parking lot and then they shared an incredible peaceful first look (we were the only ones up there!). Then we went for a short hike to watch the sun rise over the mountains. Claire and Tyler enjoyed a breakfast picnic as the sun came up and then we adventured around for sunrise portraits. There was some lingering smoke in the valleys of the mountains which created the most beautiful light that made the mountains of layers really pop. It was truly stunning. As the sun came up it was blocked by some clouds and it ended up creating some of the most interesting light I’ve ever seen! The mountains alternated from hues of green, blue, and purple. It was incredible.
After sunrise we all took a break to rest up after our early wake-up call. I absolutely love sunrise and sunset elopements because it allows you to break up the day, have a ton of quality down-time, and also visit gorgeous spots in the best light at the beginning and end of the day. Olympic National Park is also the perfect choice for a sunrise and sunset elopement because there are just so many incredible locations in the park with a ton of variety in landscape. Claire and Tyler took full advantage of this by visiting the mountains, rainforest, a gorgeous lake, and the Washington coast! We went to Lake Crescent and explored a couple trails to find the perfect ceremony location. We weren’t sure where they would want to exchange their vows, so we kept walking until something felt right. We came across a massive old-growth cedar tree and we all agreed it was the perfect spot! After their private ceremony we made our way to the shores of Lake Crescent, where C & T read letters from their loved ones.
Then we made the trek to the rugged Washington Coast for a gorgeous golden sunset at Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park! It was the perfect end to an incredible day!
