Are you considering an Olympic National Park Elopement?
Why should you choose an Olympic national Park elopement?
The Olympics are extremely unique! There’s not many places in the world that offer beautiful mountain peaks, temperate rainforests, large lakes, hot springs, waterfalls, and rugged coastal beaches all within a few hours of each other. Olympic National Park is also an amazing option for those who want to elope in the Spring or Winter. While Mount Rainier National Park and the North Cascades National Park are less accessible in winter, the Olympics still offer beautiful and accessible locations for winter and spring elopements.
Did you know the Oregon coast also has beautiful and rugged beaches? Check out this elopement at Cape Kiwanda for inspiration!
Olympic National Park Elopement Locations
The best thing about choosing to elope in the Olympic National Park is sheer number of location options for your elopement. You can choose to have your elopement ceremony on top of a mountain near Hurricane Ridge (check out this Spring Hurricane Ridge elopement) and then drive to the coast for a sunset adventure. Or if you want to experience camping on the beach you can get an overnight backpacking permit and hike in a few miles for your own unique beachfront camping elopement experience.
You also have the option of eloping outside of the National Park. Towards the south end of the Olympic Peninsula you can visit Lake Cushman and if you’re interested in eloping on a mountain peak there are some amazing options like Mt. Ellinor.
Meet your Olympic National Park elopement photographer
Hi, I’m Sierra. I’m an adventure elopement photographer based in the Pacific Northwest. I’ve spent the last 7 years exploring all the amazing outdoor areas around Seattle. I’ve hiked hundreds of miles throughout Washington and I would love to help you find, plan and capture the perfect Olympic National Park elopement for you!

RUBY BEACH: OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK ELOPEMENt Photographer
This styled elopement took place at Ruby Beach. Ruby beach is pretty spectacular because you have so many gorgeous rock formations to see and explore. Along with the sea stacks you get views of Structure Island, tons of drift wood, and ruby-like crystals that can be found on the beach (hence the name Ruby Beach). It truly is a one of a kind beach that captured me as soon as I saw it for the first time.
Getting to Ruby Beach:
From Seattle you have two main route options:
You can take the lower route by taking I5 down to Olympia and then taking Highway 12 and then back up on the Highway 101. This option is nice if you want to avoid ferries.
The more popular option is to take the ferry across to Bainbridge Island and drive to Port Angeles and then down to Ruby Beach on Highway 101.
Both options are similar in travel time depending on ferry schedules. Port Angeles is the closest city for a lot of the popular destinations on the peninsula and it offers many more options for lodging than other areas. If you’re really wanting to stay closer to Ruby Beach itself consider looking at staying in Forks, Wa. Another popular option is to stay at Kalaloch Lodge.
