Naches Peak Loop Elopement

Naches Peak Loop Elopement in Mt. Rainier National Park

Perla and Jon’s Mt. Rainier elopement is one that will stick with me for a long time. We started the day at their airbnb in Packwood, Washington. The two of them shared a first look with the Cowlitz river flowing behind them. Side note—Perla said she woke up to seeing elk cross the river as, which seems like such a magical way to start the day. After their first look I showed Perla and Jon a beautiful forest trail on the way up to the mountains. We explored the forest, tried huckleberries, and stopped by the river.

These two invited their immediate family to hike the Naches Peak Loop. We hiked to a beautiful overlook of Mt. Rainier, where Perla’s brother officiated their bilingual ceremony. Then we ventured off just the three of us for a private vow exchange. We lucked out with zero people walking by during both the ceremony and the vow exchange. It doesn’t get more perfect than that. Then we headed back down the trail to the cars and we finished off the day with some blue hour portraits with the beautiful wildflowers

The love shown between these two and their families was inspiring to say the least. It was just such a joy-filled day and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it.

Note: For each of these photos we were on trail. It’s important to remember LNT principles and take care of our fragile alpine ecosystems.
