Moody PNW Mountain Elopement
While we wish for big mountain views for each of our couples, sometimes that’s just not in the cards. Diana and Diego handled the moody vibes like champs and embraced the day Washington gave them. Watching the clouds move over the mountains, seeing peaks come into view and then disappear, appreciating the stillness and calm that comes with a moody day in the mountains… it can be pretty special for an elopement day.
Diana and Diego started their day at their cozy A-frame cabin in Ashford, WA. Diana and Diego included photos of their parents in their day. Diana put hers on her bouquet and Diego put his photo inside his suit. They got ready separately and then shared a super sweet first look beside the Airbnb. Then we headed to one of my favorite old-growth trails in Mt. Rainier National Park. Diana and Diego took in the massive old growth forest and also took the opportunity to have a little picnic. Diana surprised Diego with a custom storybook of their love story! Then they read letters from their family.
After exploring the old growth forest we headed out on our main hike up into the mountains in Mt. Rainier National Park. Unfortunately we only got a brief view of Mt. Rainier on the hike up. But the misty and foggy weather was truly magical. We decided to change their intended location for their ceremony to a spot that highlighted the moody weather a bit more and I’m so glad we did! Diana and Diego had a beautiful ceremony, where they exchanged vows and rings and then they shared a first dance! After popping champagne to celebrate, we explored the area a bit more. Then we hiked back down in the fog and dark with lanterns!
